First IFITT RMSIG Workshop

Past standardization initiatives in the field of tourism never have reached the intended global harmonization, due to a lack of flexibility and extendibility. New approaches therefore turn into the direction of open, more flexible specifications of electronic tourism markets.

The IFITT Reference Model Special Interest Group serves as a platform for discussing and elaborating an open specification of electronic tourism markets, the reference model. Within this first of a series of five workshops the methodology of the reference model and the process for reaching the objective of harmonizing electronic tourism markets has to be discussed and committed.
